What is an entry letter?

Vietnam Entry Authorization Letter or Vietnam Entry Permit is a document that allows foreigners to enter Vietnam .

Generally, foreigners are required to obtain an entry visa when entering Vietnam. And in order to obtain a visa, you must first complete a type of document called an entry letter at the Vietnam Immigration Bureau .

After official dispatch, foreigners will be able to obtain visas at two locations: border gates or Vietnamese embassies abroad .

In other words, an immigration officer is a written approval from the immigration department that allows an individual or a large group of foreigners to enter and exit Vietnam once or multiple times.

Applying for an entry letter for foreigners is the first step in the Vietnam visa application process for foreigners. To obtain this consent form, a foreigner must be sponsored by a Vietnamese individual, organization, or company. Agencies or organizations that invite or guarantee the entry of foreigners into Vietnam must go to the Immigration Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security to carry out guarantee procedures .

After issuance of the entry permit, the guarantor must send it to the foreigner so that the foreigner can complete the Vietnam visa issuance procedure at the Vietnamese embassy/consulate in the foreign country or at the airport or gate.
