Conditions for extension of temporary stay
27 of the Residence Law 2020 , the conditions for temporary residence registration are as follows:
– Citizens who come to live for more than 30 days in their legal residence outside the commune-level administrative unit where they have registered their permanent residence for work, study or other purposes must register for temporary residence .
–Temporary stay can be extended as many times as you like for a maximum of 2 years
It is not possible to register a new temporary residence in the residence specified in Article 23 of the Residence Law 2020 .

Documents for extending temporary stay include:
– Declaration of change of residence information ( form CT01 of Circular 56/2021/TT-BCA );
For minors, the declaration must clearly state the consent of the father, mother, or guardian, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Documents regarding the extension of temporary stay at the military garrison of the People’s Public Security Department
* Extension of temporary stay in places where troops of the People’s Public Security Department are stationed. Documents include:
– Declaration of change of residence information ( form CT01 of Circular 56/2021/TT-BCA );
・A letter of introduction (signed and stamped) from the commander of the unit under his direct control, stating that the procedure for temporary residence extension will be carried out and that the unit has accommodation facilities for soldiers.
Application for temporary stay extension based on the list
Extension of temporary stay based on the list, documents include:
– Declaration of change of residence information (for each individual) ( Form CT01 of Circular 56/2021/TT-BCA ) ;
– A letter requesting an extension of temporary stay, specifying information regarding legal residence and a list of persons for whom the temporary stay will be extended.

How can I extend my temporary stay ?
– Applications should be submitted directly to the police station at the municipal level.
– Submit an online application through a portal that provides online public services such as:

Document reception hours: Business hours from Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings (excluding legal holidays and New Year’s holidays).
Procedures for extending temporary stay
Step 1: Individuals and organizations prepare documents according to Section 2.3 .
Step 2: Individuals and organizations submit documents to the commune-level police station.
Step 3: Once the temporary stay extension application is received, the Residency Registration Agency will confirm the legality and content of the application.

Direct application for temporary residence
Documents for temporary residence registration include:
(1) Declaration of Change of Residence Information In the case of minors, the declaration must clearly state the consent of the parent or guardian, unless there is written consent.
(2) Documents and documents evidencing legal residence include:
– Citizens must prove their legal residence by one of the following documents or documents when registering their residence:
+ Documents and documents evidencing land use rights, ownership of houses or land-attached assets issued by competent authorities (including information about houses);

+ The document of the court or national administrative agency having jurisdiction over the home ownership settlement has given legal effect.
+ Documents certified by the People’s Committee of the commune or the People’s Committee of the district where there is no commune-level administrative unit of housing or housing land and where there are no disputes over the ownership of housing or the right to use housing land. The above documents are not available.
+ Documents proving the registration and registration of the vehicle under ownership.
If the vehicle is not registered or not subject to registration, a certificate that the vehicle is in domestic use must be obtained from the People’s Committee of the commune or the People’s Committee of the district where there is no commune-level administrative unit.
